What matters is that you know and love God. How do you know and love God? By living the commandments, practicing the virtues, celebrating in the Sacraments. By knowing and loving your neighbor. Rooted in prayer, service to others. If you are living a moral life, then the natural progression is Heaven when you die. Heaven will be an extension of your life here on earth. From the Catechism..."having matured in grace, the moral life blossoms into eternal life in the glory of Heaven." The imagery used is beautiful, the message hopeful. What matters is being who God calls you to be.
